Álex Márquez remains one of the fastest riders in MotoGP. On Friday, he finished third in the Argentina GP practice, just 0.201s behind the leader – Marc Márquez (Gresini).

The Spanish rider from BK8 Gresini shared his satisfaction with his performance, especially since he made almost no changes to the Desmosedici GP24 he used in Thailand:

– I’m really happy. We were able to be fast already in the morning with those conditions. In the afternoon, we had a good rhythm. Today, I focused more on trying the rear tyre, we made zero changes to the set-up – so, I was with the same bike as in Thailand. And being at a different track, and be able to be fast and that base being working, it’s something really important. So, I’m happy.

According to Álex Márquez, his brother is now closer: ‘Honestly speaking, we are closer to him than in Thailand. It wasn’t enough to beat him on Friday, so tomorrow we need to keep working, to make a few things, and I think if we put everything in good shape, we can be closer. So, I will try’.
